Central Christian College of Kansas (CCC) is an evangelical Christian college located in McPherson, Kansas. It was founded in 1884. Its campus is ideally placed in a residential area surrounded by recreational facilities, businesses, churches, and medical facilities. It is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church.
CCC provides its academic programs that are designed to prepare students to fulfill God’s design in their lives. It considers its Christian perspective and heritage as the center of everything including academic activities in the classroom. It seeks to provide students more than a quality Christian education by emphasizing spiritual development along with academic achievements. The college embraces the Wesleyan tradition, fully accepting and supporting the doctrines as provided by the Free Methodist Church.
The academic programs of Central Christian College of Kansas include the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree offered in thirteen (13) majors namely Communications, Education-Elementary, Education-History/Government, Education-Physical Education, English, Exercise Science, Liberal Studies, Music, History, Natural Science, Psychology, Social Science, and Sports Management, plus twenty-three (23) emphases; the Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) degree offered in four (4) majors including Accounting, Management, Organizational Leadership, and Small Business; the Bachelor of Science in Ministry (BSM) offered in four (4) majors including General Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, Worship Arts, and Youth Ministry; the Associate of Arts (AA) degrees intended for transfer programs in Arts, Engineering, Dentistry, Industrial Technology, Journalism, Law, and Medicine; and the Associate in General Studies (AGS) to prepare students for entry-level jobs in various fields such as Accounting, Banking, Finance, Library Technology, Agribusiness, Data Processing, Clerical, Building Instruction, Childcare, Piano Instruction, Aviation, Church, Music, Youth Ministry, Social Service, and Recreational Leadership, among others. Students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree are advised to transfer to the AA degree.
Central Christian College of Kansas is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International, Association of Free Methodist Educational Institutions, and the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
Annual educational costs amount to $25,300.00 inclusive of tuition and fees for an average load of 14 hours per semester plus 4 hours taken in interterm, and room and board charges. Estimated average cost for other expenses including books, transportation, and personal expenses is placed at $3,200.00. Qualified students can avail of appropriate financial aid to help them support their educational expenses.
At least 97% of the total student population of 330 avails of some form of financial aid. Financial assistance is provided through grants, loans, and scholarships, as provided by federal, institutional, state or private funds. Traditional institutional scholarships include Trustee’s Scholarship, Heritage Scholarship, Founder’s Scholarship, Central Scholarship, National Merit Scholarship, Presidential Scholarship, and Dean’s Scholarship. Traditional grants provided by CCC include Junior/Senior Grant, Ministerial Grant, Church Matching Grant, Athletic Central Grant, Music/Drama Grants, Alumni Grant, Airfare Reimbursement Grant, P/D Participation Grant, Central Grant, and the Ministerial Dependent Grant.
Central Christian College of Kansas is a member of the NAIA and the NCCAA. It fields its athletic teams known as the Tigers in several sport events including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Approximately 23% of Central Christian College of Kansas students comes from Kansas while the rest come from other US states and foreign countries such as Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Africa.
